Goblet Still Life

Original etching with drypoint in black ink. 1967. Inscribed in pencil by Nicholson as the 'sample proof' (campione). Intended edition of 25 impressions but never printed. Extremely rare. Hand-printed and wiped first proof with extensive background tone and 'burr' on the drypoint line (disappeared in the illustration of the other proof illustrated in the catalogue).

Superb hand-wiped proof impression. On pale cream wove paper. Excellent condition. Full margins (with the Lafranca blindstamp). Sheet: 14 5/8 x 12 1/8ins. Plate: 10 1/8 x 7 1/8ins (258x182mm)
