Lithograph in soft-brown ink on pale cream paper with a green-toned backing sheet. c.1888. Conceived and created by Degas; lithographed by Thornley with the close co-operation of Degas. Signed in the stone by Thornley. From the edition of 100 impressions (plus 25 proofs). Issued in the album: Quinze Lithographies - Fifteen Lithographs. Printed at the Atelier Becquet. Issued by Boussod Valadon, Paris 1889.

Extremely fine impression. On pale cream chine appliqué on a stiff green-toned backing sheet, as issued. Generally excellent condition; image excellent, backing sheet margins with very slight traces of time toning, one or two knocks at the extreme outer edges of the backing sheet. Full margins. Sheet: 22 3/8x15 1/4ins. Image: 9 3/8x 7 3/4ins (238x196mm)
