Original lithograph in black ink. 1944 (October). Signed in pencil. Also signed with initials, dated and dedicated to 'Fergus Limbour' (a friend of the artist) in the stone. Numbered (3) from the very rare group of 10 signed proofs before the regular edition. (The regular edition was 60 impressions, not pencil signed). Issued in the series 'Matière et Mémoire'. Drawn at the Atelier Mourlot, 1944.

Extremely fine richly toned proof impression. On off-white soft textured hand-made Auvergne wove paper. Generally excellent condition; the very slightest traces of time soiling at the extreme outer sheet edges. Full margins. Sheet: 323x253mm.12 3/4 x 10ins. Image overall: 265x178mm. 10 3/8 x 7ins.
