Original lithograph poster in colours. 1894. Signed in the stone. Issued as the small size 'domestic' poster (for café interiors etc.) for the Moulin Rouge. Drawn on stones by Cheret. Printed at the Atelier Chaix-Cheret, Paris 1894. With the République Francaise duty stamp, indicating an
impression which was displayed.

Extremely fine bright impression with excellent colours. On the usual cream poor quality poster paper, backed with a line sheet for protection. The usual cross-sheet folds (from the storage at the printers) flattened. Two small margin area paper-losses, not affecting the image area. The full sheet: 588x415mm. 23 1/8 x 16 3/8ins.
