The brilliant colourism in Petitjean?s work around the mid 1890?s, and so evident here, shows his close involvement at this date with Signac and Neo-Impressionism. Besides his landscape subjects however he also worked on arcadian subjects which link him with Puvis de Chavannes. Acadian Composition is one of only two known lithographs by him. |
