Excellent impression with rich strong colours. On white wove Arches paper. Excellent condition. Full margins. Sheet: 22 1/4 x 30ins. Plate: 18 1/4 x 20 5/8ins (465x525mm)

Dufy and Villon had a close association and friendship. Dufy worked closely with Villon on the preparation of this plate and it is one of the most successful of the prints made by Villon for Bernheim-Jeune. It is a wonderful expression of Dufy's 'joie-de-vivre' and colourism.
