Lettre Terrestre

Original gold-plated metal relief multiple sculpture. 1964. Signed with the signature stamp on the reverse, and numbered (116) from the edition of 300. Cast 1964. (Cast destroyed).

Fine example with surface in very good condition; just a hint of rubbing at the edges. Complete with the perspex display stand (modern). Dimensions: 5 1/4 x 5 1/4ins (132x132mm).

Arp's cast metal-relief sculptures are one of the most expresive forms in which he displayed the combination of sensuality of shape and surface, together with the sense of naturally evolving form, which are at the centre of his art.
