From the edition of 25 impressions only. Very rare as a separate lithograph, signed and numbered. (The issued edition had added text, the sheet had a central vertical fold and was unsigned; it was issued in the album edition of the series: Bouquet de Rêves pour Neila, in an edition of 150.)
The quasi-dream, quasi humorous figure of a little girl reoccurs in a number of Miro's composition from the 1930's onwards. It typifies the way that he used humour to lead the mind from the superficial recognition of a form into a mental reaction at an inner level. The free drawing, and rich use of the chalk colour, shows his drawing at its most inventive and uninhibited. |
