Les Vestales - The Vestal Virgins.

Painted and partially glazed terracotta vase; terracotta, black wash, enamel in seven colours. 1958. Signed on the reverse. Numbered on the base from the edition of 50 (no 34). Inscribed on the base: Edition Originale de Jean Cocteau - Atelier Madeleine Jolly.

Generally excellent condition. Very slightest trace of handling soiling. One tiny chip on the base at the rear. Height: 8 1/4ins (210mm). Diameter: 6 5/8ins 170mm
