Like its companion opposite ?Fighting Figures? is a very rare and important example of De Chirico?s ?Pittura Metafisica? ideas in the medium of his graphic art. Ernst, Tanguy, Magritte and Delvaux were greatly influenced by works such as this in the period of the first development of Surrealism.
