Femme Dessinant. Woman Drawing.

Original drypoint in black ink. June 1947. Rare proof before the issued edition but after facing of the plate. Printed at the studio of Lacourière, Paris 1948. The issued edition was a total of 276 impressions on various papers.

Provenance: Originally from the private collection of the printer Lacourière. Subsequently private collection, USA.

Superb rich impression. On cream wove Marais paper. Extremely fine; image worked to full sheet size (note the plate was larger than the sheet so no platemark is visible). Sheet: 382x283mm. 15 1/4 x 11ins.
