Danseuse - Sur le Bout du Banc. Ballerina - Sitting on the edge of a sofa.

Original chalk-drawn lithograph in black ink. c.1896. Signed in black chalk and also signed in the stone. Proof before the edition with the sketch lower right. Issued edition of 100 (according to the Pellet archive notes). This impression numbered 8 in pencil but actually a proof before the edition. Probably printed at the Atelier Clot. Issued by Gustave Pellet c.1896 (with his stamp).
Note: Stamped as Epreuve d'Exposition verso - ('exposition' erased and initialled by Pellet).

Beautiful richly tonal proof impression. Light cream wove chine volant paper. Generally excellent condition for such a proof; suggestion of time toning at the sheet edges. Drawn virtually to sheet size. Sheet: 15 x 10 5/8ins. 380x270mm.
