Original linocut, white line on black. 1943/44. Inscribed in pencil H.C. 17/20. With the blind stamp of the Matissen Estate. Total edition 140 including proofs. Cut and proofed by Matisse 1943/44 for the series 'Pasiphae'. Only edition issued by the Matisse family, 1981. Printed at the studio of
Fequetet Baudier, 1981. Block cancelled after the edition.

Excellent impression. On soft white wove BKF Rives paper. Excellent condition. Full margins. Sheet: 12 3/4 x 9 3/4ins. 325 x 250mm.
