the monogram ‘JC’ and inscribed ‘Fréjus’.

In the late 1950’s Cocteau started to decorate the Fréjus Chapel dedicated to the
'Knights of the Sepulchre' with wall-paintings, stained glass and a richly patterned floor. This drawing is a preliminary idea forpart of the floor or w2all decoration scheme.
On heavy cream wove watercolour paper. Excellent condition.
